RHOADES FUNERAL IS HELD TUESDAY

Mrs. Jennie Urick Rhoades, 39, Dies At Decatur Sunday

 

   Mrs. Jennie R. Rhoades, 39, a native of Adams county, died at 2:30 o'clock Sunday morning after a 90-day illness of cerebral embolism and complications.

   She was born in Adams county Feb. 23, 1912, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Urick.

   She was a member of the Winchester U.B. church.

   Surviving are a daughter, Sandra K. Rhoades, of Fort Wayne;  three brothers, Freeman, Robert and Virgil Urick, all of Decatur and three sisters, Mrs. Peter Martin, Mrs. John Hirschy and Mrs. John Mayer, all of Decatur.

   Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Gillig & Doan funeral home, the Rev. H. J. Welty officiating.  Burial was in the Decatur cemetery.

WIFE OF WILLIAM MELCHING DIES

Native of Hartford Township Dies Today At Coldwater, Mich.

 

   Mrs. Bessie Reffe Melching, 57, wife of William Melching of Coldwater, Michigan, a native of Hartford township, died early today at her home in Coldwater following an illness of one year.  She had resided in Michigan for many years.

   Mrs. Melching was born in Hartford township, near Linn Grove, August 26, 1893.

   Surviving are the husband;  a daughter, Mrs. Mazie Cline of Saline, Michigan; two step-sons, Edward Melching of Fort Wayne and Carl Melching of Houston, Texas;  a sister, Mrs. Gladys Sowers, California;  the mother, Mrs. Louise Reffe, Birmingham, Mich.;  two brothers, Fred Reffe, Birmingham, and William Reffe, Fort Wayne;  and one sister, Miss Mazie Reffe, Richmond, Indiana.

   The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. (EST) Monday at the McConkey-Putnam Funeral home in Coldwater.  Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. (CST) in Elm Grove (cut off)

ISSUED MARRIAGE PERMIT

   

   A marriage license has been issued at Fort Wayne to Esther F. Baumgartner of 537 Kinsmoor Avenue, Fort Wayne, and Rev. Clinton N. Moser, of Woodburn.  Miss Baumgartner is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Baumgartner of Fort Wayne, formerly of this community, and Rev. Moser is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Moser of west of Berne.  The wedding will be an event of November 24.
