The Evening Republican Columbus, Indiana October 21, 1902 Maranda Barnes Maranda Barnes, aged about eighty-two years old, died at 10 o’clock this morning at the county poor farm. She had been in a feeble condition for some time, and five weeks ago she was rendered helpless by a stroke of paralysis. Since that time she was attacked again and left in a totally helpless condition. She was a well-known character at the farm, having been there about thirty years. She originally lived in the vicinity of Jonesville. Her only relative is a half-sister, Mrs. William Polen, of this city. The remains will be interred at the farm Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock.
