Columbus Republic 19 Jul 2000 Arthur W. Bell Union Street Arthur W. Bell, 70, of Union Street died at 10:50 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2000, at the home of his daughter, Debbie Christian of Iowa Street. Mr. Bell had been employed by Dunlap Construction and Irwin Union Bank, working with heating and air conditioning. He also was a heating and air conditioning instructor at Ivy Tech State College. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in Germany, and was a member of South Bethany Christian Church. Funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Rick Williamson officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Azalia Methodist Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American Heart Association. Mr. Bell was born in Monticello, Ky., Feb. 26, 1930, the son of the late Steve and Maude Cox Bell. Surviving are sons, Randy Bell of Madison and Greg Bell of Hope; brothers, Marion Bell of Monticello, Ky., and Henry Bell of Nicholasville, Ky.; sisters, Louise Maxwell of Monticello, Ky., and Gertrude Troxell and Savanah Lee, both of Nicholasville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Criswell; a brother, Claude Bell; and a great-granddaughter. ~~ Columbus Republic 21 Jul 2000 Service Arthur W. Bell Funeral for Arthur W. Bell, 70, of Union Street was conducted Thursday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Williamson officiating. Burial was at Azalia Methodist Cemetery. Pallbearers were Norman Smith, Kerry Cody, Richard Ogle, Emmit Denney, Rex Baker and Harold Poer. Military graveside rites were conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
