The Columbus Republican Columbus, Indiana Thursday, February 28, 1901 Page 5 NOEL BOAZ DEAD Stricken With Paralysis Last Friday and Died Tuesday Morning At 3:30 o'clock a.m. Tuesday occurred the death of Noel Boaz, at his home in Clay township, about 6 miles northeast of the city. Death resulted from paralysis with which he was stricken last Friday morning. Boaz was a very prominent and well to do farmer and was born and reared in Bartholomew county. He was 73 years and was a son of Rev. Mignon Boaz, who was in his time one of the most prominent ministers in this part of the state of Indiana. For over a half century Noel Boaz has lived on the same farm on which he died. He possessed considerable property, all of which was gained through hard work. Mr. Boaz was a whole-souled conscientious man of more than ordinary intelligence and at all times he commanded the respect and confidence of his fellow men. When a boy he affiliated with the Baptist church and he was always a true Christian. He acquired many friends through his high moral instincts and manly traits and his death brings deep sorrow to all who knew him. Besides his wife he is survived by five children: Rev. Dr. Charles Boaz, of Mattoon, Ill; Mignon Boaz, of Rugby, Ind., who is managing a railroad office there; Simeon Boaz, living on a farm adjoining the homestead, Mrs. Rannie McCullough, of Columbus township, and Asa Boaz. Funeral services were held in the Baptist church in this city Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Lameroux and Rev. I.O. Blake. Interment at Flatrock.
