The Republic Columbus, Indiana Monday, December 26, 1904 Page 5 MRS. NANCY COONS DEAD. Well Known Woman Passes Away After Lingering Illness-Lived Here Years. Mrs. Nancy Clark Coons died at the home of her son, Alonzo B. Coons, on the corner of Sixxteenth and Pearl streets, Sunday night at 8:30 o'clock, after a lingering illness. She had a large circle of friends in this city and had lived here for many years. She was a member of the Methodist church, having united with that faith many years ago. Mrs. Coons was born in Carroll county, Ohio, January 2, 1825, and moved with her parents to Knox county, Indiana, when eleven years of age. She was married to Gilbert Coons, April 14, 1853, and moved to Bartholomew county some time later, Mr. and Mrs. Coons locating at Waymansville. Mr. Coons died October 27, 1865, and Mrs. Coons moved to this city twenty-one years ago, having lived here ever since. Five children were born to the union, Seretus Coons, who died in this city twelve years ago; Alonzo B. Coons, and Mary, whife of William Snively, of this city; F. C. Coons, of Goddard, Kansas; and Mrs. Susie Marion, of El Paso, Texas, who was formerly Miss Susie Coons.
