THE SHELBYVILLE NEWS Monday December 21, 1965   ‘JACK’ GERLINE DIES AT 84 Rites Are Thursday for Retired Farmer   John (Jack) Gerline, 84, retired farmer of north east of Edinburg, died at 10:30 a.m. today at the Ken Joy Rest Home in Hope.  He had been ill since August and in the rest home for about one month.   He was born in Allen County on January 25, 1881, the son of August and Pauline (Hibler) Gerline.  He married Inez Conner on December 24, 1911, and she survives with three children, Mrs. Thelma Schaffer, Edinburg, Jim Gerline, Amity, and Jack Gerline, Shelby County.   Also surviving are nine grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Hughes of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Nora Lewis of Chicago.   Rev. Ray Bozell, assisted by Rev. Allen Brockman, will officiate at services Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Mutz Funeral Home in Edinburg.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
