The Columbus Republican Columbus, Indiana Thursday, May 18, 1899 Page 5 Obituary America Hubbard was born Dec. 3, 1855, and died May 12, 1899, aged 43 years, six months and nine days. She was married to David Hubbard Sept. 15, 1880, and to this union was born a daughter. Her husband died in 1882 and she has remained a widow. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Sanders. She jjoined the Christian church at Old Union in December, 1872, and has remained a devout christian ever since. She was a kind neighbor and ever ready to help in time of need. She had been in poor health the last four years, but bore her affliction with christian fortitude. She leaves a daughter and one sister, to whom she was very much devoted, and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. Blessed are the deat that die in the Lord. They rest from their labors but their works do follow them. The funeral was preached Sunday, May 7, at Old Union at 10 o'clock a.m. by Elder Coy, and her remains were laid to rest in Old Union cemetery. The pall bearers were: G.W. Zeigler, Charles Hager, Frank Smith, Ed Smith, Robert Harris and Louis Busche.
