The Republic Columbus, Indiana Wednesday, September 6, 1899 Page 4 Death of F.T. Jones Fitzomer T. Jones, a well known citizen, died at his home, corner Sixth and Mechanic streets, at 10:30 o'clock last night. The deceased leaves a most estimable wife who has the sympathy of the community in her bereavement. "Fitz" Jones, as he was familiarly known, was the son, b a second marriage, of John Jones, an old time and honored citizen of Columbus. The deceased was a half brother of B.B. Jones and Mrs. M.F. Hienman. Although but forty-nine years of age, Mr. Jones was a veteran of the civil war and soldiered during the latter part of that noted struggle when less than fifteen years of age. The deceased has been for many years a sufferer from consumption. The funeral will occur tomorrow from the residence of B.B. Jones at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Elders Z.T. Sweeney and E.B. Widger will conduct the services and the interment will be at the city cemetery.
