The Republic Columbus, Indiana Monday, October 28, 1901 Page 4 LIVED HERE MANY YEARS Mrs. Louise Kaiser Died Saturday After Years of Feeble Health Mrs. Louise Kaiser, one of Columbus' oldest residents, passed away quietly Saturday evening at 6:40 o'clock at the family home, Eighth and Brown streets. For the last seven or eight years Mrs. Kaiser was in poor health, but during all that time her condition excited no alarm until the latter part of last week, when she was compelled to take to her sick-bed. The end was peaceful. Mrs. Kaiser's maiden name was Louise Kamper and whe was born in Gofeldt, Germany, October 24, 1825, making her at the time of her death seventy-six years and two days old. In 1842, when she was seventeen years old, she left her mother country with her parents, who settled on Clifty immediately after arriving in this country. After a short residence there she came to Columbus and lived here practically all her life since then. On May 20. 1846, she was married to Ernst Kaiser in Louisville. To them were born twelve children, four of whom survive: J.H. Kaiser, Charles W.F. Kaiser, Mrs. Caroline Kollmeyer, wife of William Kollmeyer, and Mrs. Minnie Weihe. Her husband preceded her in death in 1888. Funeral services Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the house and at 2:30 o'clock from the German Lutheran church, of which she was a member, conducted by Rev. C.A. Trautman. Interment in city cemetery.
