David W. "Ole Dave" Leffler, 71, of Hope, died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. Born in Shelbyville, July 25, 1943, Mr. Leffler was the son Edgar and Vessie Leffler. Mr. Leffler was a member of the Indiana Army National Guard and later he served the U.S. Army in active duty during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the Army Reserves June 20, 1989. He was the owner of Ole Dave's Auto Sales in Hope and Columbus and he was a member of American Legion Post 24 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1987. Mr. Leffler's hobbies included hot rods, race cars, and antiques. Survivors include his wife, Delilah Brown Boles Leffler of Hope who he married December 15, 1990; children, Mike Leffler of Shelbyville, Rodney Leffler of New Palestine, and Lori (Dennis) Gauthier of Michigan; stepchildren, Robert (Pam) Boles of North Vernon and Robin (Eric) Neal of Hope; siblings, Phyllis Hall of Moscow, IN, Clara (Wayne) Warren of St. Louis, MO, Anna Shuck of Indianapolis, Patty Carmen of St. Louis Crossing, Sharon (Paul) Hathaway of Georgia, Bill Leffler of California, Katie Shepherd of North Vernon, Donnie Leffler of Indianapolis, and Ellen Kay (Don) Daniels of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives Mr. Leffler was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Rita Leffler; a brother, Sonny Leffler; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Carmen.
