Perry, 89, 2293 Wallace Avenue, died at 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at her home. Mrs. Perry, a lifelong resident of Columbus, had been in ill health three years and seriously ill since Jan. 27. Mrs. Perry was born in Columbus June 25, 1870 to John and Elizabeth Amelia Bright Howerth. She was married Sept. 14, 1890 to Albert Perry who died in 1942. During her girlhood, Mrs. Perry made a trip to Kansas in a covered wagon. A member of East Columbus Church of Christ, she also was a charter member of World War I Mothers organization. Funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at East Columbus Church of Christ, conducted by Rev. H. Porter Wynn. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Casket will be open at Barkes and Inlow Funeral Home after 10 o’clock Friday morning. Survivors are three sons: Earl Perry of Lexington, KY., Sylvan Perry of Columbus and Hurbert Perry of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Mrs. Ernest Devers of Columbus, Mrs. Paul Rambo of Seymour, and Mrs. Harley Wilson of Clayton; 28 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren. Her parents were John Howerth and Elizabeth Amelia Bright. Her husband was Albert Perry, son Job W. Perry and his 2nd wife Jerusha Ann (Story) Larmer Perry Ensley. The six children of Stella Carrie (Howerth) and Albert Perry were: George Earl Perry, Sr “Earl” (born 14 October 1891), married 03 September 1917 to Kathryn Brooks. Lula Nadine Perry “Nadine” (born 12 September 1894), married 27 April 1919 to Ernest A. Devers. Sylvan Roy Perry “Sylvan” (born 14 January 1897), married 21 March 1918 to Leona Gulley, died 26 December 1975. Thelma Belle “Thelma” Perry (born 22 June 1902), married 21 August 1921 to Wm. Paul Rambo. Hubert Howerth “Hubert” Perry (born 17 September 1905), married 03 April 1927 to Dorothy I. King Beulah Elzora “Beulah” Perry (born 31 January 1908), married 27 November 1927 to Harley E. Wilson.
