The Republic Columbus, Indiana Wednesday, November 16, 1904 Page 1 FELL DEAD BY GRAVE Henry Tillman, Near Jonesville, Was Pall Bearer to Mrs. King's Funeral As the closing words were being said at the funeral of Mrs. Malissa King, at Jonesville, Tuesday afternoon about 3:15 o'clock, Henry Tillman, aged eighty, one of the pall bearers, fell dead. The Rev. Jones of Seymour, was just closing his final prayer when Mr. Tillman took a step toward him and fell about four feet from the open grave. The effect on the people who had come to attend the funeral was terrible, and several of the woman came near fainting. It will be remembered that Mrs. King was horribly burned at her home in Jonesville last week and died as a result of her burns. She was an old woman and several of her old neighbors were selected as pall bearers. Mr. Tillman appeared to be in as good health as usual when he helped carry the casket to the cemetery. After the services were nearly over he gave a start and fell dead without saying a word. A physician was called from Jonesville and everthing done to revive him, but the physician said that he had been dead from heart failure from the minute he fell.
