Grace Copeland

 


Grace Copeland, the youngest daughter of Taylor S. and Martha Emoline (Vidito) Copeland, was born August 19, 1890 in Boone County, Indiana.

She was a graduate nurse of the City Hospital.

She volunteered during World War I as an army nurse, as a member of the 68th Hospital Base. She served at Camp Wadsworth, South Carolina. Later she was transferred to England. While on ship she contracted the flu. She died and was buried at Winchester, England on November 2, 1918.

On May 31, 1921 her body was brought back to the United States and was buried with military honors at Center Cemetery, Center Twp., Lebanon, Indiana.
