Delphi

The county seat of Carroll county, on the Toledo, Wabash & Western railroad, and the Wabash & Erie Canal, sixteen miles from Lafayette, and about eighty from Indianapolis. It is one of the most enterprising and business points in the State of its size. It has two large paper mills, flour mills, and various other nanufacturing establishments in operation. The surrounding country is rich, and settled up by an enterprising people that give a good support to the place. There are several churches, good schools, Odd Fellow and Masonic lodges, &c. Population about 3,500.
