Camden Cemetery![]() On your listing of the Camden Cemetery you surprised me with two things, and I am wondering about whether they were typos or documented facts: Galen Snoeberger - the listing says he was s/o Samuel Snoeberger and Grace Shanks; I have him as the s/o Samuel and Lou Emma Snoeberger. Do you have any evidence of Grace and Samuel having either a marriage or a child? Samuel Snoeberger was never married to Grace Shanks. Grace married for the first time to David (Dick) Snoeberger in 1901. Samuel Snoeberger was married to Lou Emma (Maxwell) Snoeberger in 1882, and Galen was their fifth/sixth child (twin brother to Charles D. Snoeberger). From your list: SNOEBERGER, GALEN - May 20, 1892-Sep 25, 1912-Sec-B, Row-13 s/o Samuel SNOEBERGER, GRACE-(Shanks)-1879-1960 - w/o David d/o Hezekiah Shanks - go to link on name to see add info! Should say: SNOEBERGER, GALEN-May 20, 1892-Sep 25, 1912-Sec-B, Row-13 s/o Samuel and Lou Emma Snoeberger Kris Brower Arlington, TX Great-grandson of David and Grace Snoeberger Hi, I saw the question regarding Galen Snoeberger. The name "Galen" has been used several times in the family, in fact that is my brother's name and he lives in Camden. I go to the Camden cemetery to visit Tony and Esther Snoeberger, my paternal grandparents and Samual and Emma Lou Maxwell Snoeberger paternal great-grand parents. Samuel Snoeberger remarried after Emma Lou passed and birthing 6 children (no children from the 2nd marriage) - Maude, Tony, Josphine (married an Asa Cline-blacksmith in Camden and had at least 3 daughters, Gladys is one, I don't remember the other-the Clines are buried at Camden) Charles and Murray were twins. Galen Snoeberger was not a twin. I think a lot of people confuse that because Galen and Charles died closely together. The story goes that one died of appendisis and the other died in a scooter accident. Charlie and Murray were buried side by side with their marker going a different direction from Samual and Emma Lou. They are all in the general area of the cemetery with Josphine and Aza Cline, their 2 of the three daughters, Maude married a Dilling and they had one disabled daughter (one leg was longer then the other). After Dilling passed at a young age, Maude married a Peterson that had a son and a daughter from a prior marriage. The children from the Sam and Emma Lou - Tony and Maude were the only ones to live past 80. All the other children were dead by the age of 45. Charlie the one twin died at 41 and at the time of death had four children by the same wife. I can't remember the wife's name, but I think she remarried. Sam requested that Charlie be buried beside Murray, I guess figuring that his wife would move on. Our family has a long history of twins being buried in the same cemetery. Esther (Tony's wife) was a twin to Everrett Wolf and they are buried together. My mother is a twin to my Aunt Lura and my father requested at his death bed that he was to be buried in Delphi, where he knew Aunt Lura would be buried. I know this is probably more information then you needed to know and hope some of it helps. As read by Robert Edging htmled by : Rebecca Miller, September 2004 |
