I am researching my family who lived many years in Delphi. A g.g.grandfather, Samuel, died in 1874 but I've found no record of his death. He is supposedly buried in IOOF Cemetery, Delphi. I don't know if there is a marker. His wife was Sarah. Can anyone help with where I might find information on Samuel?

Samuel D. Gresham b. ca. 1808 in VA, d. 7/22/1874

I am looking for any and all information on Samuel D. Gresham who moved to Carroll Co, IN in 1830.

He started out shipping grain to New Orleans down the Wabash River.

He married Sarah Burt on Aug. 10, 1841 and I would love to see a copy of their marriage certificate.

I also am trying to locate Anything that may have Samuel's parent's names on it...a will or any probate record.

Samuel was a collector of revenue in Carroll Co. in 1835, served 2 terms as sheriff beginning in 1836, was postmaster from 1853-1861 and owned a livery stable in 1860. He died there on July 22, 1874 but I have no information as to an obituary that may have been released or where he is buried. I would appreciate any info you could provide or direct me to someone who could possibly help. Peggy Gresham Donovan
