Welcome to Daviess County, INGenWeb

Updated 15 Jan 2016

I'm Kathy Allen, the new coordinator for Daviess County.  Any of you that have visited this site before must know that the past coordinator, Rosemarie Chambers, and many others have done a beautiful job of collecting and providing information about this county.  I am grateful to all contributors and coordinators before me for providing so much to work with.  I hope we can continue along the same path and that you will feel free to contact me with questions, comments, and contributions.       Email:  Kathy Allen

Our Neighbors

Daviess County was created from Knox County in 1817. It is located in southern Indiana and is surrounded by Greene County to the north, Martin County to the east, Dubois and Pike Counties to the south and Knox County to the west. As many of the early settlers traveled and resided between these counties, we encourage you to check out our INGenWeb neighbors with the links provided above.

The church page has been moved and included under the Families section. The Look Ups, Links and Queries sections have been moved to the Resources Section.

Over the past year, much has been added. So please check out the following:

Almost every month someone has graciously added to the Bios & Obits section, I encourage everyone to keep checking back here to see what's been added.

Thanks to the suggestion of Janice Smith Hagmeier, the Cemetery section now includes relatives of the deceased along with photos of the grave site. I really love the concept and would appreciate more donations.

We have added marriage records to the Family Section along with several new links to family trees.

Some great class photo's were added to the School section.
