Martha Potts Armes

Mrs. Martha Armes, 90, 1401 State St., died at the Daviess Co, Hospital at 8:10 p.m. Saturday after a brief Illness. She had been in failing health the last year. She was born May 19, 1882, daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Armes) Potts. On Feb 8, 1905, she married David Jackson Armes who died in 1964. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Zed (Mildred) Davis, Washington, and five sons, Wilbert Armes, Montgomery, Rt 2, Harold Armes, Wheatland, Glen Armes, Washington, Roy Armes, Indianapolis, and Clarence Armes, Greenwood. She leaves 15 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. One daughter and three brothers preceded her in death. She was the last of her immediate family. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Otterbein Church with burial in Wheatland cemetery. Ministers will be the Rev. Arthur Freisen and the Rev. R.P. Hawkins. Friends may call at the Gill Funeral Home. The casket will be taken to the church at noon Tuesday for calling until the hour of service.
