Melissa Armes

Mrs. Melissa Armes, 92, formerly of 303 Sunset Towers, died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday at Meyers Nursing Home following a serious illness lasting three months. She was born in Daviess County May 3, 1880, the daughter of Nelson and Margaret (Fidler) White. On Oct 26, 1898, she married Hayes Armes, who preceded her in death Dec 19, 1956. Mrs. Armes was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Henry (Donna) Beck, Newport Beach, CA; one son, Cletus Armes, Washington; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A daughter, Pearl, and three sisters and four brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Gill Chapel with burial in Aikman Creek Cemetery. Rev. L. Glenn Hazel will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. The Amoma Bible Class will have Memorial Services at 8:15 p.m. today. The casket will be closed at the start of the service.
