SHERMAN ARMES TAKEN BY DEATH.
Sherman Armes, 70, RR 2, Montgomery, passed away at 9 a.m. today at his home. He had been seriously ill for seven weeks. Mr. Armes was born June 2, 1886, in Harrison Township, the son of Anderson and Lizzie White Armes. On Dec 26, 1908, he married Goldie E. Davenport, and she survives. He was a farmer and a member of the Jehovah's Witness. The deceased was educated in the Harrison Township schools. Surviving besides the widow are four daughters: Mrs. Ralph (Thelma) Schnarr, RR 1, city, Mrs. Raymond (Maude) Potts, RR 2, city, Mrs. Paul (Lola) Craney, Indianapolis; two sons, Herbert Armes, city, Hobart Armes, RR, Montgomery. Two sons preceded him in death. There are 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Charles Chickedantz, city. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gill Chapel with Robert Edinger officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Reeve township. Friends may call at Gills after 2 p.m. Thursday. The family has requested that flowers be omitted.
