BATCHELOR RITES SET FOR FRIDAY
Mrs. Effie BATCHELOR, 84 years old, 505 Florence St., died at the Daviess County Hospital at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday afterr a serious illness of five weeks. She was born August 10, 1881 in Martin County, the daughter of Samuel E. and Catherine (REEDY) SMITH and was educated in the Martin County Schools. Mrs. BATCHELOR was married May 16, 1907 to Albert E. BATCHELOR, who survives. She was a member of the Glendale Methodist church. Surviving are five children: Mrs. Olive DeHART and Mrs. Dorothy RAMSEY, both of Washington; Max BATCHELOR, Bloomfield; Mrs. Esco (Eunice) MARONE, Indianapolis, and Meredith BATCHELOR, of Washington. A daughter, Mrs. Reba ACKMAN, preceded her in death. Mrs. BATCHELOR reared twin granddaughters, Mrs. Jospeh (Lynn) KINDER, Evansville and Mrs. Roy (Lyndel) GILES, Dallas, Texas and has five other grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Margaret McKINZIE, St. Cloud, Florida. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Gill Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Tyler officiating and burial in the New Veale Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
