Ernest Henry Batchelor

Ernest Henry Batchelor, 71, Rt. 2, died at his residence at 3 p.m. Sunday following an illness of ten months. Mr. Batchelor was seriously ill one week. He was born April 26, 1909 in Veale Township, Daviess County to Stephen and Etta (Rutherford) Batchelor. He married Alice Richard August 26, (sic) 1909 and she died November 2, 1953. He married Virginia (Shelton) Tomey December 1, 1975 and she survives. Mr. Batchelor was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and a life member of the Moose Lodge. He attended Veale Township schools and was a retired farmer. He leaves his wife and four sons, William, Earl, Frank and Wayne Batchelor, all of Washington, one stepdaughter, Mrs. Tom (Vicki) Polley, Brownsburg, 12 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two step grandchildren and one step great grandchild. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Gill Chapel with the Rev. Blaine Emily as minister. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
