Floyd E. Bennington

Floyd E. Bennington, 89, died at 2:50AM Sunday at his home. The funeral will be at 2PM EST Wednesday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home, Huntingburg. Interment will be in Plainville Cemetery. Friends may call after 2PM Tuesday at the funeral home. He was born Sept. 27, 1902 in Daviess County to William Clay and Della (Sissy) Dougherty Bennington. He married Delpha Edwards June 17, 1922 and she died March 9, 1992. He was a retired industrial arts teacher beginning his teaching career in 1922 at Plainville. He also taught at Odon and Washington. In 1953 he began teaching at Huntingburg and retired in 1969 after 47 years in his profession. He was a member of the Plainville Christian Church and the Huntingburg Kiwanis Club. Surviving are two sons, Philip Bennington, Washington, and Donald Bennington, Brockton, Mass., 11 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Two daughters, Patricia Wuertz and Leota Bennington, and two brothers Virgil and John Bennington, have died.
