SCOTTSVILLE --John F. Berry Jr , 73, of Scottsville died at 2:30 p.m. May 28, 2009, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
The Washington, Ind., native was a former shoe buyer for Shoe Corp. of America and Dollar General Corp., former owner and operator of Berry's Shoes, former member of the National Guard and former supervisor of environment services for The Medical Center at Scottsville and The Medical Center at Bowling Green. He was a member of Central Christian Church in Washington, Ind., Halfway Lodge No. 852 F&AM and an associate member of Scottsville Chapter No. 00201 Order of the Builders. He was a son of the late John Frederick Berry Sr. and Verna Mae Sellers Berry.
Halfway Lodge No. 852 F&AM will have a masonic service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Goad Funeral Home followed by the funeral, with burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens. Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Berry; two sons, Mark Alan Berry and his wife, Judi, of Pataskala, Ohio, and Tim Berry and his wife, Missy, of Scottsville; a daughter, Pam Taylor and her husband, Mark, of Scottsville; two stepdaughters, Kyneta Humphrey and her husband, Darren, and Kaneal Whitlow and her husband, Mike, all of Scottsville; a sister, Estel Schnarr of Washington, Ind.; five grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
