—Washington - D. O. Brown, 73, Taken By Death Thursday Night Reeve Twp., Farmer Died At Son's Home In Scottsburg. Alfordsville, Ind., Aug 4. - D.O. Brown, 73, prominent south Reeve Township farmer, died Thursday night at the home of his son, Dr. Ernest A. Brown in Scottsburg, Ind.

Death of Mr. Brown was attributed to a complication of ailments, and came after lingering illness. He had been seriously ill at the son's home during the past six weeks. Native and lifelong resident of Reeve township, Mr. Brown was widely and favorably known. He resided on a farm two and a half miles south of Alfordsville, and had been active in maintenance of the farm until his last illness. Twice married, he was preceded in death by both wives and by three children. Surviving are two children by his first wife, Dr. Ernest A.Brown at Scottsburg and Miss Lena Brown, at home in Reeve township and two children by the second wife, Roy Ottis Brown in the Navy in Florida, and Delbert A. Brown, in the Army at Dayton, Ohio. A brother Will resides in Florida and a sister Mary lives in Iowa. Funeral services pending arrival of the son in the Navy will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Old Union church south of Alfordsville, with internment following in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may pay respects at the Norris Funeral Home in Loogootee,where the body was taken for preparation. While Mr. Brown's name was Delbert, he was more familiarly know as"Deb" among his wide circle of friends and acquaintance.
