Clarence Carey

Bro. Clarence Shelton carey, 72, 40 Eastside Mobile Park, died unexpectedly at 8 a.m. Tuesday at his residence.
Born April 25, 1931, in Lauren Co., Ga. he was the son of Marion and Anna Ethel (Joiner) Carey.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a graduate of Washington High School and Nashville (Tenn.) Diesel school, and had been a diesel mechanic. In 1968, he entered the Christian Church Ministry. He had held pastorates in Montgomery Christian church, Monroe City Christian church, and Bethany Christian church in Greene County. A member of First Christian church, he had delivered the sermon this past Sunday.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (Fitzgerald) Carey, whom he married June 18, 1952; daughters and sons-in law, Judy and Lewis Riddle of Shirley, Ind., Sherry and Don Davis of Monroe City and Susan and Jim Moulden of Washington; grandchildren, Jerome Carey, Jesse Riddle, Levi Riddle and Geena Davis.
He is preceded in death by one sister, Alma Lamb, and two brothers Harvey and Eugene Carey.
The funeral will be a 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Gill chapel, with Bro. Ronald Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and after 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
