Fred J. Chadd Passes Away
Fred J. Chadd, age 52, of Rural Route 1, city, was found dead in bed at his residence at 9:00 p.m. Saturday. It is believed that he died about three hours earlier at about 6:00 p.m. Cause of death was reported as complications. He had been ill for one year and was seriously ill only a few minutes.
Mr. Chadd was born April 2, 1907 at Fritchton, Indiana, the son of the late Thomas and Minnie (Chaplan) Chadd. His former wife, Della Spoonmore, survives. He had lived in this community all his life and was employed as a laborer.
A son, Paul Chadd of Muncie, Indiana, and a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Kavanaugh of this city, survive. There are five grandchildren.
Sisters and brothers are: James Chadd of Odon; Charles Chadd of Detroit, Michigan; Mrs. Harry (Hazel) Healy; Mrs. Blanch Bannister; and Thomas Chadd, all of this city; John Chadd of Bicknell; and Edward Chadd of El Paso, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the V. L. Poindexter Chapel with Rev. Stanldy Kain, officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the V. L. Poindexter Chapel.
