MACK CHAMBERS DIES FRIDAY
BOGARD RESIDENT WAS PAST SIXTY YEARS OF AGE. ENTIRE LIFE LIVED IN THIS COUNTY.
David Mack Chambers, well known resident of the community passed away at his home near Epsom last Friday after a short illness. Mr. Chambers was the son of James and Purdence Chambers and was born in Martin county near Burns City March 2nd, 1866. He was past sixty years of age at the time of his death and practically his entire life had been lived in this county. He united with the church of Christ at Elnora when quite young and retained his membership with that body until about two years ago when he became identifed with the Christian church at Plainville in which place he held his membership when he passed away. He was a veteran of the Spanish American war and served three years in the navy. On February 11th 1896 he was united in marriage to Miss Molly Irwin of Elnora who proceeded him in death in 1907. To this union four children were born all of whom survived their parents. These are James of Shreveport, La; Velma Chapman of Indianapolis; Orville of near Washington and Charles who is in the U.S. Name in California. On January 28, 1908 Mr. Chambers was again married to Mrs. Minnie Woodruff and to this union four children were born. These are Nora Nigengard of Aurora and William, Joseph and Seth who are at home. He also leaves two step sons Roy and Omer Woodruff of near Washington. Besides the wife and children he also leaves one brother Dan K. of Elnora and many friends throughout the community. The funeral service was held at the Christian church at Elnora Sunday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. C.H. Buchanan of this city in charge. Burial was made at Fairview cemetery.
