John R. Clauss

John Richard Clauss John R. Clauss, 49 603 East Nat'l Hwy., died at the Washington Nursing Center at 4:45 a.m. today. Mr. Clauss had been in failing health for five years & was seriously ill three weeks. He was born Sept.22, 1931 at Washington to the late Nicholas & Mary J. ( Norris) Clauss. He married Margaret Haller & she survives. Mr. Clauss was a member of the St. Mary's Church. He was a former employee of the Peoples Bank. Mr. Clauss was a member of the Knights of Columbus Lodge & St. Marys Choir. He was graduated from St. Mary's School & was a graduate of Washington Catholic High School. He leaves four children, Ann, John N., Christy & Phillip, all at home, three sisters & one brother, Mrs. Lloyd( Dorothy) Walford, city Robert L. Clauss, city Mrs. Mose W.( Margaret) Gootee, North Vernon, Mrs. Archie(Loretta) Rego, Bruceville. Two brothers James & Harold Clauss are deceased. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Michael Allen officiating. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at Ed Lee Mortuary after nine a.m. Sunday & members of the K of C & friends will pray a rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday.
