Carl Vernon Collins, 75, 401 S.E. 11th St, Washington, died at the Daviess County Hospital at 12:44 p.m. Thursday. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Gill Chapel with Bro. Ben Ray Bean officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Reeve Township. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. He was born June 27, 1917 in Martin County to Millard and Zola Iva Chattin Collins. He married Hazel Gillick Dec 24, 1938 and she survives. He was a retired Service Station Operator. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and Disabled American Veterans. He attended Martin and Daviess County Schools. Surviving are his wife and one son, Larry Lee Collins, Washington, one sister and three brothers, Mrs. Orris (Ione) Potts, Victor and Oral Collins, all of Washington, and Earl Collins, Shoals. One sister and four brothers have died.
