Ark M. Davis


1869-1948

Ark M. Davis, 70 Died Sunday
Ark Davis 70 retired Veale township farmer died at the local hospital at 1 o'clock Sunday morning. Mr Davis had been taken to the hospital two days before his death. He had been in failing health for a year and serioiusly ill for the past six months. Mr Davis was born on May 7, 1869 in Cartersville, Ohio. His parents were David and Elizabeth Wilson Davis. He married Magenta Parks who preceded him in death in 1941. Mr Davis came to Daviess County in 1888. He was a member of the Aikman Creek church where funeral services will be held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Survivors are five children Gaither Davis and Mrs Mary Killion, Veale township, George Davis, Washington township. Mrs Mildred Ward Bogard township. Clifford Davis U. S. Navy. A daughter Elizabeth Davis Barber died in 1918. Brothers and sisters surviving are Charles Davis of Payette, Idaho and Della Taylor and Carrie Yarbrough, both of this city 21 grand and two great grandchildren survive. Friends may call at the Gill Mortuary until hour of funeral.

Ark Davis born 5/7/1869 Auglaize County Ohio died 6/27/1948 Daviess Co. Ind. married 2/17/1895 Magenta A Parks Jones. She was born 8/20/1870 died 2/23/1941 she was first married Gilaspie Jones. She was the daughter of James Parks and Nancy Ann Mason.

Additional brother was Robert Wilson Davis who died 5/30/1919
