Omar S. Deich, 71, 112 Southeast 11th St., died at 8:40PM Saturday at the Daviess County Hospital after a two-week illness. Mr. Deich was a retired teacher in the Washington schools. He was a member of First Christian Church and the Daviess County Historical Society. A native of Wickliffe, Ind., he was born Jan. 12, 1901 to Jacob and Nancy (Lane) Deich. He had been a resident of the community for 35 years. Two brothers preceded him in death and he is survived by a niece and two nephews, Mrs. Maurine Good and Paul Deich, both of Danville, Ind., and Jerome Deich, Cinncinnati. The funeral will be at 10AM Thursday, May 4, at the Gill Funeral Home with Bro. J. Spencer Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Wickliffe Cemetery near French Lick. Friends may call after 7PM Wednesday.

Sidenote: (Added by Janice who knew him personally and wanted him to be remembered for the thing he most loved to do.)

He was a faithful restorer of reed organs or "pump" organs, sometimes having no less than 20 antique organs in his house, in various stages of restoration. He would sit and pump the pedals to power one of the organs and pull the stops and play to show visitors the myriad of sounds the organ made.
