WASHINGTON - Isaac Feagans Dies Suddenly of a Heart Attack

Retired Farmer Dies in Chair at Home on East Walnut Street.
Stricken suddenly with a severe attack of the heart, Isaac W. Feagans, one of the county’s best known retired farmers, died suddenly in a chair at his home 1201 East Walnut Street Saturday afternoon about 4:30o’clock.  Mr. Feagans had not complained.  He had been down town and about the city most of the day. Returning home Saturday afternoon, he died in a few minutes, death overtaking him as he sat in a chair.

Isaac W. Feagans was 70 years the 25th of last April.  He was born north of Montgomery on the old Feagans farm and most of his life was spent in that neighborhood where he farmed for many years.  He was successful and four years ago he retired and came to this city to make his home.  He married Sarah Davis August 13, 1872, and nine children were born to them.  The surviving children are: Mrs. Thos. Wilson of Barr Township, L. Edgar Feagans of Barr Township, Mrs. W. A. Hunter of Barr Township, Joseph L. Feagans of Barr Township, Mrs. Thomas Keith of Washington Township, and Robert C. Feagans of Camp Grant, Rockford, IL.  One brother, W.W. Feagans of this city also survives him.  He also leaves 27 grandchildren.

He was a devout member of the Antioch Christian church.  The funeral arrangements have not been made, depending on the time of the arrival of the soldier son from Camp Grant, Rockford, IL.
