Harvey W. Fisher

Harvey W. Fisher, 88, a life long resident of Plainville, died at 2AM this morning in Prairie Village Nursing Home following an illness of several years. He was seriously ill only a few hours before his death. A retired truck driver, he was born in Bogard township Aug. 24, 1883 to William and Mary C. (Chestnut) Fisher. He married Eva May Cornelius in 1905, and she died June 3, 1912. In 1916, he married Alta Graber Myers, who preceded him in death June 22, 1964. He was a member of the Plainville United Methodist Church, F. and A.M. 678, Past Patron of the Plainville Order of the Eastern Star, a member of White Shrine of Washington, Knights of Pythias and Modern Woodmen of America. He attended Danville State College at Danville, Ill. Surviving are two sons Ermil and Max Fisher, both of Plainville and five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. One son and one daughter preceded him in death. He was the last of his family. Funeral services will be at 2PM Monday at the V.L. Poindexter Funeral Home with burial in Plainville Cemetery. Rev. Robert Hawkins will officiate. Masonic Services will be held at the funeral home at 7:30PM Sunday. Friends may call after 2PM Sunday.
