Martha Edwards Jackman

Mrs. Martha Jackman, 84, formerly of 302 Mill Street, died suddenly at 7:40 a.m. today at the Meyers Nursing Home. She had been in failing health for six months. Mrs. Jackman was a member of First Baptist Church and Amoma Bible Class. She was born in Reeve Township, June 10, 1888, daughter of Samuel Henry and Laura (Webber) Edwards. In 1911, she married Thomas Jackman, who died in April 1971. Four sons survive, Henry Jackman, Washington, Harley Jackman, Baltimore, Harold Jackman, Cannelburg, and Ernest Jackman, Indianapolis, 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Flossie Burton, Pontiac, Illinois, and Mrs. Bertha Foster, Downers Grove, Illinois and three brothers, Ralph Edwards, Hudsonville, William Edwards, Cannelburg, and Herman Edwards, Washington. Two daughters died in infancy and one sister and three brothers have died. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Gill Funeral Home with burial in Old Union Cemetery south of Alfordsville. Ministers will be the Rev. L. Glenn Hazel and Dr. William Seat. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday.
