Katherine Peachee

Katherine Peachee, 93, Route 2 Troy Road, died at 12:05 this morning at the Hillside Manor Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. The Revs. Philip Richardson and Dean Stuckey will officiate. Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Gill Chapel and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

She was born on June 16, 1908, in Daviess County, to Frederick Lyle and Margaret Theresa (Dayton) Allison. She married Frank A. Peachee on September 17, 1931, and he preceded her in death on October 2, 1990.

Peachee, a Washington High School graduate had graduated from the Indiana Normal Teachers' College and taught in Veale Township elementary schools for two years. She was the oldest member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where she had been church organist and pianist for over 50 years and a Sunday School teacher for many years. Also, she was an Ophelia Home Economics Club member.

Surviving are: a daughter, Wana Hasler, Newberrry; a son, Don Peachee, Route 2; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Jean Allison and Evelyn Berry.

Family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Gideon Society.
