Annie Keith Perkins, 65, Died Friday Funeral Will Be Held Monday Afternoon At 2 O'clock
Mrs. Annie Keith Perkins, 65, of the Sugarland community, died Friday afternoon at 4:50 p.m. at the Daviess county hospital where she had been for the past six weeks. She had been ailing for the past year and in a serious condition for the past six weeks. Death resulted from complications.
She was born October 25, 1877, in the Sugarland neighborhood, the daughter of Isaac Newton and Mary Jane (Alexander) Keith. On October 20, 1898, she married Albert M. Perkins who preceded her in death in September of 1917. Six children were born to them, five of which survive: Netta Perkins at home; Charles A. Perkins of Shreveport, Louisiana; Frank K. Perkins of Aruba, Dutch West Indies; Carl H. Perkins, of Washington Township and Louis E. Perkins, of Santa Monica. A daughter, Ethel Enkoff, died in May of 1935. Twelve grandchildren also survive, along with the following brother and sisters: Thomas Keith of Fort Wayne; Mrs. Ella Banta of Washington; Mrs. Frank Allison of Veale Township; Mrs. Emma Patterson of Bogard Township; Mrs. Myra Allison of Veale Township.
The deceased had been a member of the Antioch Christian Church for 50 years, and was a member of the Sugarland Home Economics Club.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Antioch Christian Church with Rev. Lewis A. Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. The body will remain at the Gill Funeral Home until 4 p.m. Sunday where friends may pay respects after which time it will be taken to the family residence.
