Potts, Amanda E.

Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda E. POTTS, age 64, were held at the Poplar Grove Pilgrim Holiness Church at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Delbert WINTERS conducting the rites.  Burial was made in the church cemetery, with the Queen Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers were Russell PENDLEY, Walter PENNINGTON, Wayne THARP, Byron BOWMAN, Roscoe DAVIS and Robert DAVIS.
Music was provided by the Morris Trio of Bedford, composed of Mr. & Mrs. U. G. MORRIS & Mrs. Wanda RAINEY.

Mrs. POTTS was born in Martin County on Feb 16, 1895, the daughter of George and Matilda (LENTS) DAVIS.  She passed away at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at the Daviess Co. Hospital, where she had been taken an hour before death.  She had been in failing health for several years.

In 1914, she married Marion G. POTTS and he, with seven children, survive.  They are Cecil POTTS, of Bedford: Ernest POTTS, of Frankfort, IN; Francis POTTS, of Loogootee; Mrs. Ilean THARP, of Shoals; Mrs. Thelma PENNINGTON and Mrs. Laverne PENDLEY, both of Loogootee; and Mrs. Marcella BOWMAN, of Bloomington.  There are twenty seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Also surviving are three brothers, James DAVIS, of Shoals; Freeman DAVIS, of Indianapolis; Martin DAVIS, of Cannelburg; and a sister, Mrs. Opal DAVIS, of Shoals.  Four children, two brothers and a sister have preceded her in death.

Mrs. POTTS was a member of the Poplar Grove Pilgrim Holiness Church.
