Harley N. Potts

Harley N. POTTS, 83, Glendale, died at the Daviess County Hospital at 5:25 a.m. Sunday after a three week illness. He was born Feb 28, 1896, in Daviess County to Alex and Martha (PRATER) POTTS. He first married Katherine OSMON in 1923 and she died in 1926. He married Hersel MARSH on April 27, 1927 and she died July 16, 1978. A retired farmer, he has also been an Electrolux Sweeper representative. He was a member of the Reeve Township, Oak Grove Methodist Church and the American Legion. He attended the Reeve township schools and served in World War I. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Beulah Bee STILLWELL, Fairfield, CA; two sons, Harley J. POTTS, Jr., Saudi Arabia; Robert POTTS, Anderson; 23 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; two brothers, Ross POTTS, Montgomery and Paul POTTS, Alfordsville. Two daughters, Louise McCOY and Beverly POTTS, a son, Ernest, two step-sons, Paul and Floyd PAGE, one sister and five brothers have died. Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Gill Chapel with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Reeve Township. The Rev. Joe Wyatt and the Rev. Max Nicoson will be ministers, Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
