Lulu M. Potts

Mrs. Lulu Marie POTTS, 86, 608 W. Walnut St., died at 12:05 a.m. today at the Daviess County Hospital. She had been ill one month and seriously ill 10 days. Mrs. POTTS was a school teacher in Knox county before her marriage. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, where she had been treasurer for more that 30 years, Order of Eastern Star and Ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. She was born Oct 18, 1890, in Knox county, daughter of Thomas and Ida (BASSETT) JOHNSON. She attended the Wheatland high school and Indiana Normal College. On Nov 12, 1913, she married Stancel Theodore POTTS who died in 1950. Two daughters survive, Mrs. Helen BIRKHOLZ, LaPorte, IN, and Doris POTTS, Loogootee. Two sisters, Eva JOHNSON and Emma HELDERMAN, preceded her in death. Services will be at 3:30 Friday at the Gill Chapel with burial in the Wheatland cemetery. Ministers will be the Rev, R.P. Hawkins and the Rev. Max NICOSON. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday. Members of Eastern Star will hold memorial services at 7 p.m. Thursday.
