Marion G. Potts

Marion G. Potts, 81, Shoals, Rt 1, died at the Bedford Medical Center at 10:45 p.m. Sunday.  He had been in failing health for four years and seriously ill three weeks.

Mr. Potts was a retired farmer and carpenter and had worked for the B&O Railroad.  He was a member of Poplar Grove Wesleyan Church in Martin county.
He was born in Daviess county Dec 20, 1893, son of William and Silesta (Scott) Potts.  In 1914 he married Amanda E. Davis who died in 1960.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ilean Tharp and Mrs. Thelma Pennington, Shoals, Mrs. LaVerne Wenzel, Loogootee, and Mrs. Marcella Bowman, Bloomington; three sons, Cecil Potts, Bedford, Ernest Potts, Frankfort, and Emil (Sam) Potts, Loogootee; 26 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; and one sister, Nellie Reed, of Montgomery, IN.  four children, four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 today (Wednesday) at the Poplar Grove Church, with Rev. Charles Veale officiating.  Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
