Thomas Potts, Farmer, Dies In Steele Twp.
Was Brother of Late Levi F. Potts Who Died Feb. 10th
Thomas Jefferson Potts, 79, farmer living on the north side of the Steele Township line, five miles north of Washington, died this morning at 9 o'clock at the family home, after a serious illness of about three weeks of influenza and complications. Death of Mr. Potts came 15 days after that of his brother, Levi Franklin Potts, retired minister who died at his home in this city February 10th of pneumonia and complications. The deceased was born in Daviess County on August 7, 1856, a son of John C. and Elizabeth (Allen) Potts. He was a farmer all his life and had been living north of the city for several years. He was married twice and is survived by the second wife, who was Della Blanche Alexander, this wedding taking place April 20, 1904. The first marriage was to Margaret Allen Armes, who died in 1893. Four children were born to this union, and they are survivors. They are Mason Potts, Roy F. Potts and Stancil Theo. Potts, of Washington, and Mrs. Jack Armes of Glendale. There are 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister, also survives. They are Taylor Potts of Washington, George Potts of Knox County, and Mrs. Joseph Ishum of Washington. Mr. Potts was a member of the Otterbein United Brethren Church. Funeral arrangements are not completed. Elwood Williams will have charge of the funeral.
