Walter Rodimel Dies at Hospital
Walter A. Rodimel, 80 years old, 406 West Flora St, died at the Daviess County Hospital at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday after a serious illness of one week. He had been in failing health since 1961.
He was born February 4, 1884, in Sudan, Kansas, the son of William F. and Laura (Roll) Rodimel, and was educated in Pike County. A retired farmer, he came to Daviess County in 1893 and was a member of St. Simon's church.
He leaves a widow, the former Bridget C. Kane, whom he married September 21, 1909; six children: Charles D. Rodimel, Arthur W. Rodimel, Mrs. Bernard (Betty) Larkin, Alvin R. Rodimel and Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Borders, all of this city, and Mrs. Robert (Marie) Miller, Huntington, Indiana; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A son John, a daughter Laverne, and a sister preceded him in death.
The funeral Mass will be at 8:45 a.m. Saturday in St. Simon's church with burial in St. John's cemetery. Friends may call at the Lee and York chapel The members of St. Simon's parish and the Ladies Auxiliary Knights of St. John will pray the rosary at 7:30 p.m. today.
