Lloyd Russell

Lloyd (Shorty) Russell, 76, 1201 E. Walnut Street, Washington, died at the Daviess County Hospital at 3:50 p.m. Saturday.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Gill Chapell with Bro. Byron Black officiating. Interment will be in Alfordsville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born April 7, 1916 in Pike County to Oness and Lottie Capehart Russell. He married Wanda Fitch May 4, 1935 and she died October 10, 1980.
He was a retired carpenter working for Kretz & Rose Construction. He was educated in Pike County Schools and was a member of the First Christian Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ross (Patsy) Niehaus, Washington, Mrs. Herbert (Evelyn) Pierson and Mrs. Waymon (Judy) Nicholson, both of Martinsville, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Archabald and Mrs. Agnes Streppy, both of Vincennes. One son, Kenneth Russell, and two brothers are deceased.
