Leland Schnarr

Leland John Schnarr, 55, Montgomery Rt. 2, Pennyville Community, died at his home Sunday. He was born October 4, 1922 in Daviess County to Philip Fred and Leona (Smith) Schnarr. He married Estel Berry on November 13, 1942. A graduate of Alfordsville High School, he was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army. He was a hog and grain farmer. Mr. Schnarr belonged to the Oak Grove Church in Reeve Township and was a member of the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association. He leaves his widow and four sons, James D. Schnarr, Montgomery Rt. 2, Ronald G. Schnarr, city; Joseph L. Schnarr, Washington Rt. 4; Donald J. Schnarr, Petersburg Rt. 1; six grandchildren, three step grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Bernice Scott, Mrs. Lee (Ruth) Kail and Mrs. John (Dorothy) Essig, all of this city; and one brother, Clyde W. Schnarr, city. One granddaughter, Kristena Jo preceded him in death. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Gill Chapel with Bro. Ben Ray Bean as minister. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Reeve Township. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Gill Funeral Home.
