Herman Leon Shelton

Service for Pfc. Shelton Funeral Services for Pfc Herman Leon Shelton, soldier of WW II, who was killed in action in 1944, will be held at the Gill Chapel at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, The Rev R.C. Hale will conduct the services and burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pfc Shelton was born on this city on Jan 2, 1926, son of Louis B, Shelton. He was 18 years of age at the time of his death which occurred on Pelelieu Island on Sept. 28, 1944. He received his education in the city schools and enlisted in the Marine Corps in June, 1943. The body will arrive early Friday morning and friends may call at Gills.
Survivors are his parents and two brothers, Wilbur and Richard Shelton, and two sisters, Mrs. Pearl E. Evans and Mrs. Virginia M. Tomey, city.
