Noel C. Sims

Noel C. (Tickey) Sims, 77, 411 West Elnora St., Odon, died at his residence Wednesday at 10:55PM. He was born Oct. 9, 1903 to Emerson and Mary (Laughlin) Sims. On May 15, 1926 he married Maria E. Burkhart and she survives. Mr. Sims attended the First Christian Church of Odon. He was a member of the IOOF Venus Lodge 387 and a past Republican precinct committeeman for several years. He was a retired welder at Basloid Products. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Don (Mary) Vickers, Griffith, Ind., and Lucille Sims, Odon; four sons, Don Sims, South Bend, Rex Sims, Griffith, Norman Sims, Greentown, Leroy Sims, Lowell; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Three sisters and two brothers survive, Mrs. Opal Petty, Washington, Mrs. Zelda Tomey, Mrs. Macile Firestone, Ray Sims, and Fay Sims, Odon, and two step brothers George and Keith Sims, Odon. Three brothers preceded him in death. Services will be Saturday at 3PM at the Poindexter Funeral Home, Odon Chapel, with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 2PM today.

The funeral of Noel Sims was at 3PM Saturday at Poindexter & Son Funeral Home, Odon Chapel, with Bro. Raldo Cook officiating. Burial was in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Bearers were Gene Sims, David Sims, Danny Sims, Brad Sims, Steve Sims, and Donnie Vickers.
