"MARRIED. At Rising Sun, Indiana, on Thursday, 14th inst. by Rev. James Challen, Mr. William Morison of this city, to Miss Mary Ann Stewart of the former place."

MARRIAGE RECORD OF WILLIAM MORRISON AND MARY ANN STEWART, License Recorded 12 Mar 1833, Book 1, page 36? (indistinct), Dearborn County, Indiana. Marriage Performed on 14 Mar 1833, and Certified on 19 Mar 1833.

Be it remembered that on the 12th day of March 1833, a Marriage License issued from the Clerk's office of the Dearborn Circuit Court in the words and figures following, to wit:

The State of Indiana, to all who shall see these presents know ye that by virtue of the authority vested in me by law as Clerk of the Dearborn Curcuit Court, I have granted and do by these presents grant unto WILLIAM MORRISON & MARY ANN STEWART, License to be joined together in Matrimony, according to law and for so doing this shall be a sufficient warrant. Witness James Dill, Clerk, and the seal of the Dearborn Circuit Court, 12th day of March - 1833.

----Livingston SNELL and Esther R. FREEMAN were the greatgrandparents of Mari-An Gray Feather, the contributor of the information below.
They were married May 27, 1851.
The Source is a certified copy of the marriage license and certificates as appearing in the

To any person legally authorized to solemnize the rites of matrimony;
These are to license and permit you to join together in the holy state of
MATRIMONY

and for so doing this shall be your sufficient warrant.

the Dearborn Circuit Court, have hereunto set

hand and affixed the seal of said Court, at

The orginal certified copy was obtained by a cousin who has shared this with
me. My greatgrandmother was born in 1832 in Pittston, Maine and the family
moved to Dearborn County in 1838. My greatgrandfather was born in Dearborn
County. His family came to Dearborn County around 1818 from New York and
settled along Tanner Creek. This is according to the History of Dearborn Co.
that was published around 1886. The Freemans were also related to Daniel
Plummer, the Minister. He was married to a Freeman.
