William Henry Reinking died at the home of his son, H. D. Reinking, on Manchester road Tuesday evening, Feb. 14. His heart began to fail him last summer, and his general health showed signs of breaking. New Year's he had a slight attack of the "flu" but pneumonia developed about two weeks ago, with other complications. Although the best of medical aid was given, and the most careful attention was given, yet the "golden bowl was broken and the silver cord was loosened" and he peacefully fell asleep in Jesus at the age of eighty-two years, four months and twenty-five days.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Daniel Reinking, and was born in Ovenstadt, Germany, Sept. 20, 1839, being baptised shortly after his birth.
When five years of age he came with his parents to America, and settled in Manchester township. He was instructed and confirmed March 25, 1853 by Rev. Christian Busse. In 1859 he moved from Manchester to Miller township.
He was married to Miss Clara Marie Wolber Aug. 20, 1868, at Gobles Creek, by Rev. Weisner. Five children were born unto them, two sons and three daughters, two of the daughters being claimed by death before the father.
He was one of the founders of St. John's congregation. He was active, peaceable and a very liberal supporter of the church, always setting an exemplary example to all his fellow church members.
He attended church service for the last time on Christmas day.
The funeral services were conducted at St. John's Lutheran church last Friday, Rev. Grabbeman officiating, after which the body was laid to rest in Bellair cemetery.
A good man and loyal citizen has passed from us. One who was held in good esteem by his neighbors, and there remains to mourn his death two sons, William and Henry, and one daughter, Mrs. George Busse, two sons-in-law, John and George Busse, fifteen grandchildren, one sister, Mr. D. Ellinghausen, five brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, besides many other relatives and friends.

TESCOTT-- William Ernest Reinking, 98, a retired farmer, died Thursday evening at the Good Samaritan center, Lincoln. Kas.
Mr. Reinking was horn July 3, 1869, in Lawrenceburg, Ind. He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran church, Tescott.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Tessa Dupes, Gypsum, and Mrs. Sylvia Perry and Lulu Reinking, both of Tescott; six sons, Clifford, Tescott, Ernest, Glendale, Ariz., Ira, Charleston, W. Va., Arthur, Coffeyville, Horace, Udall, and Herbert, Milton, Kas.; 24 grandchildren, 43 greatgrandchildren, and one brother, Henry. Aurora, Ind.
The funeral will be at 2 pm Monday at the St. Paul's Lutheran church, the Rev. Duane E. Levin officiating. Burial will be in Franklin cemetery, Tescott.

Ernst Reinking, aged 83 years, died at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. Ellinghausen, on Monday. He located in this country in 1844, and was an old and highly respected citizen.

The friends of Mrs. Christena Wilmena Reinking will be saddened though not surprised to hear of her death, which occurred Friday after about seven months illness. She was born in Lede, Prussia, June 27, 1813. She was confirmed and accepted into the Lutheran church at the age of fourteen, and was always a faithful member. As her sufferings increased and her strength failed she often hoped that the time would come when she would be at rest. Christena Wilmena was married to Ernest D. Reinking March 4, 1836. They came to America and to Dearborn county in 1844, and here Mrs. Reinking lived until her death. She was the mother of eleven children, two of whom, Henry Reinking and Mrs. Lizzie Ellinghausen live here, and are among our most highly respected citizens.
