SOUTHEASTERN DEKALB COUNTY, INDIANA TOMBSTONE RECORDS These pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for non-commercial purposes MUST obtain the written consent of the contributor. This is by permission of Fayne Harter, The Allen County Public Library and in cooperation with the Eckhart Public Library and transcribed by Steven J. Tony. The cemetery inscriptions are copied records compiled by Fayne E. Harter in August 1971. Burials since 1971 are not listed in this material. These records appear exactly as Ms. Harter listed the information in her transcripts. The Following Was Compiled by: Fayne E. Harter August 21, 1971 Usually the names were gathered starting at the North end of the cemetery. If the graves were laid out from East to West, then the names were taken beginning at the east. A large cemetery was recorded in sections, a driveway or a row of trees was the dividing line. I took only the name and dates from the stone, and if given the relationship. It is not the complete inscription. The time involved was the main reason -- it is very time consuming. The last name is given first, whenever it appeared the next grave belonged to the same family. And they are arranged in the same grouping. Mr. T. E. Haberkorn, of the St. Joe News, gave the listing of the veterans buried in the cemeteries. The list is some ten years or more out of date.
